Where do market quotes come from?
Quotes and one-month daily closing histories come from Yahoo Finance. They are delayed and each instrument shows its last trade timestamp. Weekends and holidays show the latest available trading session.
What does Sample mean?
A sample is an illustrative value, not a current or cached market quote. Samples appear when the provider cannot supply verified data. Charts are hidden when historical data is unavailable. Portfolio totals that include samples are also labelled.
How is daily portfolio performance calculated?
Day P&L is quantity multiplied by the difference between the latest price and the previous trading close. Total P&L compares the latest valuation against your average purchase cost. Fees, taxes, dividends, and currency conversion are not included. The tracker supports the listed Indian equities in INR.
Where are my holdings and watchlist saved?
Guest workspaces stay in this browser’s local storage. Signed-in workspaces are stored in MongoDB and scoped to your verified account. Guest data stays separate from your account. Clearing browser storage removes guest data.
Can I buy or sell through this app?
This is a research and portfolio tracking workspace. Adding or removing holdings changes your tracker only; it does not place a trade or connect to a brokerage.
How does the news feed work?
Headlines come from Google News RSS and link to the original news results. Filter by Markets, Global, Companies, or Policy. Publication timestamps and source names appear on each story. Official RBI, SEBI, and Union Budget sources are linked from the news desk.
How do I enable Google and email sign-in?
Account services need a MongoDB database and a secure auth secret. Google access additionally needs OAuth credentials with this application’s callback URL. When these services are unavailable, you can continue exploring as a guest.
